Welcome to Chaplins. Our clients’ data is available exclusively to their staffs, of course, so to demonstrate market vues, we have created a fictional retailer, Chaplins, with sample data for stores and customers across the country. While the data itself is not real, it is realistic enough to show the power and flexibility of market vues. In this case Chaplins has about 20 stores and more than 100,000 customers. |
Chaplins Portal Strategy:
Today, Chaplins' marketers use their custom web portal to monitor and analyze sales, track store and market performance, evaluate new product introductions, check the potential for new and current store locations and plan new event promotions. |
For example, Chaplins is planning a spring event promotion for their San Francisco store. First, they use the Stores Vue to check sales performance over the past three years. They look to see which products have done well and when the primary buying months have been historically for the San Francisco store. |
Next, they go to the Profile Vue to look at the market size and growth potential for different profile groups such as working women and high income, urban males. |
The Metro Map Vue is used to see how far away customers live from the San Francisco store and where they should concentrate any print media buys. In addition to the print buy, they have also decided to send out a postcard mailing to high potential customers and prospects that live within 10 miles of the Chaplins store in San Francisco. |
They can also check the archive vue to see if any previous promotions in San Francisco should be reviewed. |
During their review of the different vues, the Chaplins marketer could have called their Market Vue Partner to run special reports or to handle the event promotion, including pulling or ordering files, preparing them for mailings and executing the mailing itself. |
